“. . .to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 12:4

This morning I received news that my Grandpa DeKok went to be with the Lord.

As I reflect on my time with him growing up, I am thankful for the time he invested in me.  He was a very hard worker and a gentleman.  He loved to take his grandkids out on the big John Deere tractor, or perhaps on further reflection the grandkids loved taking Grandpa out in the big John Deere tractor.

I remember one time he and I had a good chat in the middle of a field about me becoming a missionary.  After several pointed questions he gave me his blessing and encouragement.

He was also a faithful adult Sunday School teacher.  I believe this was the natural overflow of the years that he spent in God’s Word every morning before starting his day.  By the way, starting his day happened pretty early as he was a dairy farmer for most of his life.

We are missing him.

We are praying for you, Grandma DeKok.

We are praying for you, too, Paul and Jo and Feli.
May God continue to allow his memory spur you on to greater heights in your
missionary career. You come from a great heritage of godly saints! May we all keep on keeping on ’til Jesus comes or calls us Home. Hugs to you all!
