We have the keys to our rental home. We have been diligently cleaning for the past week a house that was empty for the past two years. I am amazed about how many times we have managed to empty dirty pails of water. We have had our security system installed, have had our utilities set up, and are pretty much ready for our things to arrive.
Enter our newest challenge. The port is on strike!
Our things HAVE arrived in Uruguay. Our customs clearing agent has been most diligent in getting all the documents approved that we needed. He is ready to hire a truck to bring the container from the port to our rental house, and visited our house today to make sure that the truck would fit in the street.
The problem has been that the port workers decided to go on strike last Friday, May 30th. This means that no container is allowed out of port until they settle and go back to work. In the meantime, we are responsible for port storage fees. These port fees accrue daily. Every night when I lay my head on the pillow, I hear the cash register ring. Our customs clearing agent has told us the earliest we will see our container is either this Friday or next Monday, June 9th.
Please pray that this situation will be quickly resolved. I would like to think that we could use this money for better purposes than to pay for port storage fees.

Thanks for praying for us. We will keep you posted.
It looks like next Tuesday may be a good possibility for us to get the container.
When we get the final news, we will have a bunch of last minute organizing to do.

Praying that you get your container tomorrow.
God bless! I saw your Mom and Dad; sisters; GrandDad & GrandMother; and Aunt on Sunday. All look well.
