While we have been waiting to get into our house, we have been staying with BBF missionaries Jesse & Glenna Parnell. Their mission house has been our home for the past several weeks. They have been gracious hosts, and have been most helpful in teaching us about how to live in Montevideo.
The Parnells are originally from Texas so I am afraid my Spanish is starting to get a bit of a southern drawl to it. 
This morning the church which he is currently pastoring celebrated its 6th anniversary Sunday.
They brought in a special speaker, had special music, and put on a tasty meal of grilled sausages.
My Spanish is still very poor. However, as far as I was able to understand, the sermon by the guest speaker this morning was on giving up all to follow Christ. This sermon took on an extra dimension in light of the less privileged conditions of most folks in Uruguay.
The Pastor from the church plant in Salinas attends the church in Tres Cruces in the morning. You can find him directing the well known hymn, “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms” in this video.
What a blessing to find the Word being preached and sung in different churches throughout the capital of Uruguay. We look forward to visiting more ministries in the near future.
