We made it to Jo Anna’s family in Paysandu after a marathon trip!

The trip started Monday around 11:30am and ending Tuesday around 7pm Uruguayan time.  We did manage to miss our Chicago-Miami connection.  However, thanks to your prayers and the help of a friend we where able to rebook on a later flight.  We then had a 45 minute layover in Miami instead of the expected 1:30 layover.

We had an uneventful flight from Miami to Montevideo.  This was 8 plus hours.  Felicia slept almost the entire way.  We read to her the evening Bible story, and told her it was time to go to bed.  She promptly layed her head down and was asleep within minutes.  Miraculous!

When we arrived in Montevideo, we had an extremely helpful customs agent give us some advice about where and when to visit an office so that I can apply for my permanent residency permit.  After passing through immigration, we then had the pleasant surprise of finding that our bags had arrived on time and made the change in itinerary.

We then began to pray that we would not have any problems with declaring items or having our luggage THOUROUGHLY looked at by the custums agent.  I sent Felicia and Jo Anna ahead in the line, and followed with our five huge duffel bags, one large suitcase, three limit size carry-ons and three limit size personal items.  As you can imagine I was really sweating the check point after all the work of just getting the stuff off of the conveyer belt.  Graciously, Jo Anna must have said the right words, Felicia smiled, and I looked like the sweating cooly . . . he just waived us through.

As we exited out into the main airport area, we where greeted by our family, BWM missions family, several Uruguayan friends, and some other fundamental missionaries.  As you can imagine, we were quite overwhelmed.

Gracious a Dios por la buen viaje!  Praise the Lord for your prayers, and for a great start to our upcoming busy month of getting adjusted!
